My CV

I am currently working towards my PhD in Experimental Psychology at the University of California, in San Diego. My graduate mentors are Dr. Ione Fine (University of Washington, Seattle), Dr. Geoffrey Boynton (formerly at SALK, currently at University of Washington, Seattle) and Dr. Stuart Anstis (UCSD).

We explore the human visual system with psychophysical and functional neuroimaging techniques. Specifically, our research studies the tuning of face-selective mechanisms. We use adaptation methods, "the psychophysicist's electrode" (Frisby, 1979), to examine selectivity to properties including the gender, ethnicity, and identity of faces.

Selectivity for the configural cues that identify the gender, ethnicity, and identity of faces in human cortex. Ng, M., Ciaramitaro, Anstis, S., Boynton, G.M., Fine, I. PNAS 103(51), 19552-57 pdf
